Top Ten Tuesday (111): Books That Will Make You Swoon

Top Ten TuesdayTop Ten Books That Will Make You Swoon

Swoony books are just the best, aren’t they? There’s nothing quite like reading a book and getting warm-fuzzies/butterflies/tingles when two characters are so well-suited and their relationship is so satisfying, even if they encounter troubles along the way. (Especially if they encounter troubles! That tension increases me swooning!) Of course, there are more than 10 books that will make you swoon and so this list will always be too short. But these ten books had a pretty high swoon factor for me for all kinds of reasons. SIGH…SWOONS.

swoonFriends. I give you Hector. You are welcome. Or, well, Rae Carson is welcome. His relationship with Elisa is not only full of lots of sexual tension and steamy kisses, but it’s also founded on mutual respect, trust, and friendship. They are solid as a rock, even when they have to deal with some twists and turns.

swoonI literally cannot have a list of books that made me swoon without giving this book a spot. Lenny and Joe are just too passionate and full of feelings and kisses and music and have a really amazing connection. I love how they just are on this whole other level together.

swoonYes, I did put a novella on my list. It’s deserving of the spot, I promise. If you are a fan of Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone series, then you are probably a fan of Zuzanna and Mik, which makes sense because they’re ADORABLE ALL OVER THE PLACE. This little gem tells the tale of their very first date and OMG I DIED FROM SWOONS. So stinking cute, so perfectly them, so charming and magical.

swoonLet me tell you, friends, that deciding between this book and GRAVE MERCY for swoon factor because Ismae and Duvall are super. But there’s just something MORE about Sybella and Beast. Because they are both so broken and lost, their coming together is just a little more steamy and emotional for all their troubles.

swoonI LOOOOOVED Maggie and Jesse in ALSO KNOWN AS, but they are just SO FREAKING ADORBS in GOING ROGUE. Even when things between them are strained, they are still flirty and supportive and they gave me all the butterflies.

swoonThere are very special swoons reserved for love at first sight, friends, and Hadley and Oliver gave me just those kind of swoons. This is maybe going to sound boring, but if their ease and comfort in their conversation doesn’t make you “AWWWW!!!” then…well, I don’t know about you. (I’m kidding, I’m kidding.)

swoonSo I know that in real time, Amy and Roger don’t actually spend that much time together, but you would really never know it from the way they develop their relationship slowly and sweetly with the perfect amount of awkward tension. LOVE THEM.

swoonThere’s this really intense sense of suspended reality at the beginning of this book when Lulu meets Willem and spends a day with him in Paris. It’s magical and mysterious and so swoony I can’t even.

swoonTHESE TWO. Not much is good for Eleanor, friends, except maybe for her growing friendship with Park. The swoons I felt for these two were less of the steamy, adorable variety and more of the “I am so so thankful that you two found each other” variety.

swoonA classic. All-time swoon. I’ve reread this book several times and I still get tingly with every reading. Anna and Etienne 4 EVA!

Comments

  1. Lovely list! Eleanor and Park, Going Rogue, and Dark Triumph are all very swoony.
I hope to read Rae Carson’s series – Hector’s name keeps popping up everywhere. ๐Ÿ˜›

    • When you read Girl of Fire and Thorns, you’ll understand why Hector is all over people’s lists today. He’s just…a MAN. You’ll see. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. I agree about Sybella and Beast! I loved their book better than the first one just because their romance was so much more… I don’t know. Unexpected? Earned? Intense? All of those things, really. I loved that book so much.

    • Yes! That’s it! Don’t get me wrong, I loved Ismae and Duval tons. But there was something much more intense and earned about Beast and Sybella. Earned! That’s it! I loved them so much. It felt much deeper with them somehow.

  3. How did I forget about Dark Triumph?! It totally brought on the swoons. And the Sky is Everywhere… while I sobbed, I definitely swooned over it! I’ve seen Night of Cake and Puppets popping up everywhere; I must read this!

    • Night of Cake and Puppets is SO ADORABLE. I hope you read it soon! And seriously. I can’t leave Joe and Lenny off this list!

  4. Can I just say yes to all? Or yes to all I’ve read!! WHY DID I FORGET ABOUT GRAVE MERCY. Duval! He’s so swoony! I forgot to put him on my list ๐Ÿ™

  5. This is the second time I’ve seen Night of Cake and Puppets on this week’s list! That’s it, I’m reading it!

  6. I love your list, Amy! Yet another list with Statistical Probability on it, why haven’t I read this yet?? And Eleanor & Park <3 (read&loved), Amy & Roger's <3 (read&loved); oh just such wonderful swoony picks<33

Here's my swoon worthy reads, if you’d like to check them out:)
