Top Ten Books on My Summer TBR

HUZZAH FOR SUMMER READING! I always loved summer reading when I was in school, so now you know just what kind of nerd you’re dealing with here. But even though my taste in books has changed from “required reading plus lots of adult books” to mostly YA, I still love reading while I’m sitting outside, or on the beach, or just enjoying the long days and warm weather. I didn’t have a chance to write about these individual books this week–alas! I’ll try and update this post tomorrow–but I’ve got a mix of books coming out this summer and books that are already out. I CAN CONQUER THIS LIST!

  1. Great choices! I have What I Thought Was True and Isla and the Happily Ever After on my list, as well. I need to catch up on Jessica Spotswood’s second book before I can read the third, though!

  2. AMY YOU GOT THIS! Coincidentally I am super in love with Red Seas Under Red Skies and will tell you to look for the kickass female pirate captain and hope that will be enough to convince you, coupled with the continuation of Locke and Jean’s adventures. OMGGGGGG. That book.

Also! The Queen Of The Tearling! I loved that book!

I totally forgot that Jessica Spotswood’s book is coming out. I love her books — especially via audio.

    ISLAAAAAAAA. So excited.

I’ll Give You The Sun & Salt & Storm made my list too. Good luck!!! I believe in your ability to read all these!

  3. Great list! I’ve heard a lot about Jandy Nelson but haven’t read any of her books yet. I’ve got Sinner and Isla on my list too! Absolutely can’t wait for them.

  4. I’m reading The Queen of Tearling soon. I’ve heard mixed things about it, but most people are positive πŸ˜€ Salt & storm sounds great and I’m also interested in Trial by fire. Happy reading πŸ˜€

  5. I just finished Sinner last night. SO SO GOOD! Also really excited to read I’ll Give You the Sun.

  6. What I Thought Was True made my list as well! I have been hearing good things about your other picks, especially Sinner. I hope you enjoy!

    Here is our TTT!

  7. SO MUCH EPIC right here!

  8. I’m so excited about Salt & Storm and I’ll Give You The Sun. They both look amazing. I hope you enjoy your books this week! πŸ™‚ My post: http://chrissireads.wordpress.com/2014/06/17/top-ten-books-on-my-summer-to-be-read-list/

  9. Oh my gosh, I’m so excited for Isla and the Happily Ever After. I completely forgot to include it on my TTT, but I will SOOOO be reading it this summer.

I’m very curious about Salt & Storm, too. It looks really interesting. I love the whole fantasy and historical fiction thing!

    Happy Summer Reading! πŸ™‚

  10. So, so very excited for I’ll Give You the Sun! I really need to continue on with the Gentleman Bastard series. Red Seas Under Red Skies is currently under $5 for Kindle. I’ve been waiting to see if the price will drop a little more, but I’m not sure how much longer I can hold out on it. πŸ™‚ Salt & Storm, Trial by Fire, and The Queen of the Tearling all also sound like fantastic fantasies. Happy summer reading!

  11. Sinner, yes, Trial by Fire, Yes!, Queen of the Tearling – yes maybe probably since my friend reviewed and loved. Salt & Storm oh yes will do. Also I’ve been meaning to read the first Scott Lynch book forever I need to get to it already.

Looks like you and I have some similar tastes – oh yes how excellent your stack is *nibbles nibbles* don’t swat me away!!!

  12. I’m probably not going to read Salt & Storm but yours is the second place I’ve seen it today and I just love that cover and the title name! I keep forgetting that ISLA is coming out — that will be a nice treat for August. And I am also hoping to get to the Huntley book but I keep putting it off because the reviews haven’t been entirely favorable … yet I own it so I should just read it already? Ughh! The choices. haha
