Blame the Books

Blame the Books

So, yes, another day comes and goes without a post of any substance here at Tripping Over Books. In fact, I only posted once this week, aside from today, but I have a reason. A good one. Two, actually. I think you’ll forgive me.

Blame the Books

Yup. I’ve been reading. GO FIGURE. I’ve been reading two AMAZING books. (Well, I just started A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES, but let’s be serious I’m going to love the shit out of it.) I just finished I’LL MEET YOU THERE by Heather Demetrios and I can’t stop thinking about it. I’ve already reread parts. I’m still sleeping with it on my bedside table. Buy it. Read it. Love it. And A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES is just sucking me in. Andi told me to tell you guys that Tamlin, Lucien, Feyre, and Rhys (who I actually haven’t met yet, but oh well) made me not post, and I have no problem passing the buck here. So, oops, no real posts from me until I’m done. I’m on a blogging pause for the next few days so I can read good–no, OUTSTANDING–books. We still cool? (If not, it’s totally Heather and Sarah’s faults. Like 100%.)

Does this happen to you guys? When reading just takes over and you can’t be bothered to blog or twitter or bathe? (I mean, I’m clean, but you get the picture.) This always strikes me as ironic somehow that I don’t want to post on my blog about books and reading because I’d rather be reading. That’s why I’m glad to not pressure myself to post all the time. It gives me more opportunities to READ THE THINGS, and when I’m not posting for large chunks of time, that’s usually what I’m doing instead: reading.

When was the last time this happened to you? Does it happen to you ON THE REGULAR like it happens to me? Somehow this became more than a “hey, just stopping by real fast to let you know that I’m not posting a review or anything because I’m reading good books” post to a “thinking cap” post. Sorry about that, friends. But I like this topic! Let’s chat about it!

  1. Just wait until you finish ACoTaR! Dude. I read that a week or two ago and only just got around to writing and posting my review because I just could NOT form the words. Gahhh. Major book hangover

  2. This is why I love you! BEST. NON-POST. POST. EVER.

  3. This SO happens to me all the time 🙂 I don’t read fast enough to keep up with my blog… and then sometimes I start a new book and CAN’T stop reading it long enough to post about my last book. I’m totally with you… authors need to stop writing so good that I get obsessed (totally joking, they must never stop)

  4. ACOTAR is totally a valid reason not to be posting, particularly if you’re choosing to blame the lovely Feyre and the trio of hot Fae men involved. Just saying 😉

  5. Yes. All the time. I truly believe I love reading more than I love writing about it (even though I love this a lot). It also doesn’t help that a book is so much more than picking up your laptop on a busy subway and starting your review then and there.
