Top Ten 2014 Reads I Didn’t Get To Last Year

This happens to me every year, friends. I always have such high hopes for myself and my reading plans each year, but inevitably, even with books that I’m really excited to read, I miss a few. So this list was pretty easy for me. In fact, the only hard part was keeping it to ten books. So, you know, I didn’t.

Book cover Jackaby William Ritter Book Cover Compulsion Martina Boone Book Cover The Perilous Sea Sherry Thomas Book Cover The Infinite Sea Rick Yancey Book Cover Zac & Mia A.J. Betts Book Cover Ask Again Later Liz Czukas Book Cover Dreamer's Pool Juliet Marillier Book Cover The Hero's Guide to Being an Outlaw Christopher Healy Book Cover Winterspell Claire Legrand Book Cover A Thousand Pieces of You Claudia Gray Book Cover Something Real Heather Demetrios Book Cover The Blood of Olympus Rick Riordan

So what do you guys think? Can I get through these books this year? It’s my goal. Like, a priority. I’m going to print out this list and check books off as I read them. I WILL TOO DO IT!

Comments

  1. Oh dear Lord I haven’t read ANY of these books either. Except Compulsion. But hey, if you can do it so can I! I love the printing idea. Maybe I’ll do that too 🙂 All the best, girlie <3

  2. The Perilous Sea and The Infinite Sea were great sequels (and I was so tempted to make a joke with the spelling of sequel there due to all of the “Sea” words I just typed but ANYWAY). I didn’t get to Winterspell either and Compulsion just got on my radar but hopefully this year! I hope you get to these soon and enjoy them!!

  3. Ask Again Later is such a cute book. Actually all of Liz’s books are great. And definitely make it a priority to read Something Real Amy. I think you will enjoy it. And I still need to read The Burning Sky before I can get to the sequel.

  4. Oh man I didn’t read ANY of these! I do have a few of these on my TBR list – Compulsion, Winterspell, Blood of Olympus – so hopefully I can get to these ASAP in 2015! Good luck getting to them too!

  5. You should get to The Infinite Sea as soon as you can because it blew the first book out of the water IMO. Ringer was on FORM

  6. Winterspell is on my TTT as well. I definitely meant to read that one . . . but you know how it goes. But I have read a number of these books – Ask Again Later, Hero’s Guide to Being an Outlaw, Blood of Olympus and I’ve loved all of them.

  7. I just read Jackaby and quite enjoyed it! It reminded me a lot of The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud.

I also have to get to Winterspell, Compulsion and The Infinite Sea. One day . . .

  8. I’m dying to read a few of these too, but Jackaby looks sooooo good. I read a review by another blogger and it just made me want to read it even more. Fantastic list this week!

  9. The only one I have read here is the Infinite Sea but I really really loved it. You can check out my review here if you wish but it was a definite 5 star read for me.
I really love the cover of Jackaby and it looks really interesting. Added it to my TBR 🙂

  10. Winterspell looks interesting! I’m going to have to add that to my TBR pile. Great list!

  11. I was shocked how much I liked A Thousand Pieces of You – definitely wasn’t expecting to as much as I did! Zac & Mia was on my list, too! I was absolutely pining for it and then..never got around to it. But I will! I WILL!

  12. OH please please please pleassseeee read Jackaby this year!

  13. Winterspell is on so many lists this week and I forgot to put it on mine even though I WANT IT RIGHT NOW. It’s not even available in paperback on Amazon UK though 🙁

  14. Eeeeek! Something Real SHOULD have been on my list. I kept hearing so many good things, but never got it. Then after reading I’ll Meet You There, I fell in love with Heather Demetrios and HAD TO HAVE IT! I’m going to read it soon!

  15. I demand you read The Perilous Sea and The Blood of Olympus! Both are such strong additions to their respective series, and you are going to enjoy them tremendously. I also think that Something Real is most definitely worth a read, and that A Thousand Pieces of You was an intriguing series starter! Happy reading, Amy! Hope you read all of these and more 😉

  16. I really want to read Jackaby too… but my “to read list” is huge and I can’t seem to get to it. I hope you review it so I can decide where to move it in the priority list!
