Tripping Over January

January

January is here! Time for a new year and new books to look forward to! As always, I’m shouting out my five most anticipated January releases below. Let’s get 2014 off to a good start, shall we?

JanuaryGive me some witches, and I’m down. Immediately. But if those witches also live in a past time? WHOA. I’m immediately more excited. This story about a family of  young witches in Regency England sounds like the best mash-up of historical fiction and paranormal goodness. WORD.

JanuaryI had such a blast reading ALSO KNOWN AS, the first book in this awesome spy series. Spies are just such great fun! Plus I get to hang out bookishly with Roux, one of the best best friends I’ve ever read.

JanuaryI’m feeling outer space right now, guys. Like, pretty hard. This one in particular sounds badass: teenage mercenaries, conspiracies, galaxy-threatening secrets and drama, and baddies that sounds just enough like the mob to ring my Cosa Nostra bell. SPACE MAFIA. STOP IT.

JanuaryBeauty and the Beast is one of my FAVORITE fairy tales, and I’m always, ALWAYS drawn to retellings. This one features a Beauty who is also a badass, marrying the Beast as part of a master plan/long con to free her country from a centuries-old curse. I MEAN.

JanuaryYou guys know that I love Brigid Kemmerer’s Elemental series, right? I feel like I’ve mentioned it loads of times. This is the fourth book about the beyond stellar Merrick brothers, each of whom can control an element. Nick–he’s the air brother–has a big secret, though: He’s maybe not as into girls as his brothers are. (This is not a spoiler, btw. It’s in the jacket copy.) I love the Merricks so fiercely, and I can’t wait to see how things turn out for Nick. Also, because once this book is done, the next one is about my all-time FAVORITE Merrick, Michael. Not like I’m rushing or anything.

What books are you guys looking forward to this month?
